The functions of all mass appraisers are strictly professional in character; therefore, to further the professional standards of our profession each member of the National Association of Mass Appraisal pledges that he will:

Conduct his professional activities in a manner that will reflect credit upon himself, other members of the National Association of Mass Appraisal and the profession in general.

Hold the interests of clients as his own and will preserve a professional, confidential relationship at all times and will reveal his appraisals and conclusions only with his client's consent or in keeping with the controlling governmental regulations.

Never use the information, data, records and appraisals for any use contrary to the interests of his client, the general public or the express terms of the contractual agreement.

Accept appraisal or consulting assignments only when there is no conflict of interest.

Render properly and adequately developed appraisals without accommodation for any particular interests, being factual, unbiased, objective and honest in his valuation conclusions which will be developed in accordance with the pertinent laws, ordinances and regulations, both local, state, and federal.

Not make unfounded or unproved statements about another member of N.A.M.A. at any time

Not solicit for employment, a member of another N.A.M.A. firm and will only confer with a competitor's employee after said employee has made known to his employer his intention to do so.

Cooperate with the N.A.M.A. and its officers in all matters including investigation, censure, discipline or dismissal of members who, by their conduct, prejudice their professional status or the reputation of N.A.M.A. or its various members.

Confirm in all respects to this code of ethics and to any standards of professional conduct that may be adopted by N.A.M.A.
